We begin with photo stops at the outlook points of both the dam and the lake. Hoover Dam is one of the man made engineering marvels of the world. Dedicated in 1935 and is the Western Hemisphere's highest concrete dam. The dam controls floods, stores water, provides hydroelectric power generation, recreation, and a fish and wildlife habitat.
Lake Mead (National Rreation Area), with its beautiful crystal blue waters, was created by Hoover Dam and is the 16th largest man made lake in the world and the largest in the western hemisphere.
We then take a leisurely scenic drive through beautiful
Red Rock Canyon, the beautiful canyon you see when flying into Las Vegas. The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is one of the hidden treasures of Nevada with its beautifully layered red sandstone mountains and unique rock formations.
Next is a drive through majestic Mount Charleston with photo stops along the way.Mount Charleston is the highest mountain of the Spring Mountains. It is 11,918 ft. high and 20-30 degrees cooler then Las Vegas. The mountain is covered with several species of pines, juniper and aspen groves. It is transformed into a winter wonderland when covered with snow.
Saving the best for last, tour through the Valley of Fire with various photo stops and the visitors center. The Valley of Fire is the "crown jewel" of Nevada's state parks. In this unworldly place you will see Aztec formations in fire engine red with overwhelming valleys and gorges. These stunning formations were formed 150 million years ago. Ancient Indian petroglyphs, Elephant Rock and Seven Sisters are among the many sites you will see.

THE VISUAL EXTRAVAGANZA CONTINUES...
In fulfilling our mission for you to experience the "other side of Las Vegas", in all it's magnificent splendor and beauty, we present to you Red Rock Canyon. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Areas is one of the hidden treasures of Nevada. It's an area of worldwide geological interest and beauty. It has also been used as the backdrop for many movies and commercials.
The photo opportunities are endless as we travel and make stops along the 13 mile scenic drive where you will see beautifully layered red sandstone mountains, unique rock formations, petrified sand dunes, Indian petroglyphs, and pictographs, as well as ancient roasting pits. You will view the most significant geologic feature of Red Rock Canyon, the Keystone Thrust Fault, which is believed to be 65 million years old. Along the way you will see a variety of cacti, yucca, joshua trees, and other plant life. Be on the look out because we never know when we will see big horn sheep or wild horses and burrows! Your visit will include a stop at the visitors center with its fascinating exhibits, educational video, desert tortoise habitat, and lovely gift shop. Bring the kids along and ask for the free junior ranger discovery book filled with fun family activities.
On the Deluxe Tour, after your Red Rock Adventure, it's off to live the old wild west with a stop at "Old Nevada", a replica of an 1880's mining town at the Bonnie Springs Ranch. You'll enjoy many attractions from cowboy gunfights and hangings to a petting zoo, and on weekends, a minature train ride for the kids. You'll love the old western shops!
